Roberta Price is the regional leader of the Deep South. She was described as the smartest and meanest out of all the regional leaders and based in a heavily secured compound in Texarkana, Texas.

Biography[]

Before the Red Flu outbreak, Price managed a ranch based out of Texarkana, Texas. After the cure is discovered and the United States is unified under the leadership of Jeffrey Michener, Price was appointed the leader of the Deep South Region. Price eventually conspired with Allison Shaw and the other regional leaders to usurp leadership of the American government.

Events of The Last Ship[]

Michener video chats Price and the other regional leaders to ask for their support in helping him handle the hostage crisis with the Nathan James and give CNO Chandler the time he needs to assess the situation. After William Beatty and Randall Croft pledge their support, Price makes it clear that although she doesn't agree with his domestic policies and neither do her people, she will support Michener on this and tells him to bring their people home. (“Devil May Care”)

When the regional leaders demand a meeting with Michener, he agrees and meets with them at the White House. After Michener explains the situation overseas Price says it is a good thing they arrived. When they suggest rescinding Michener's domestic policies to calm the people down, Price argues that they are not working anyway. Michener addresses the regional leaders, saying they all agreed that everything they did was the best plan for the nation. Michener goes onto to say that congressional elections are happening next month and afterwards they can decide whether or not to retain his policies. Michener then says they need to control their people until then, otherwise he will use the military to control their people and tells them to do their job. (“Minefield”)

Michener mentions that Price is currently holding back protests at power plants in her region. (“Dog Day”)

Price attends Michener's memorial service after he supposedly committed suicide with the other regional leaders save Senator William Beatty, newly sworn in President Howard Oliver, Shaw, Rivera and Kara. Afterwards they meet in Oliver's new office and when Oliver mentions Beatty is missing, Price mentions Beatty wasn't happy being used as a rubber stamp for Michener's recent policy moves. She then joins everyone in criticizing Michener's job performance with Price specifically mentioning while they are all happy the hostages are safe the more important issue is the domestic policies which Price states was Michener acting too soon to centralize everything which everyone save Kara agrees are doing more harm then good. (“Sea Change”)

After the coup d'atet is staged, when Secret Service agents call Shaw to tell her they couldn't find Kara Green, Shaw orders them back while Price comments that Kara is smarter than she looks for using herself as bait to prove Shaw is Peng's mole. Price asks Shaw how much she knows and Shaw tells her it doesn't matter since Kara doesn't have any proof and when asked about releasing Rivera and Beatty's deaths, Shaw says she will leak the information later as she didn't want it complicating the earlier press conference. Price tells Shaw they need to "corral the herd" and that if Chandler gets back he will rally all the military forces against them. Shaw tells Price she is handling it but Price is skeptical, as are the other regional leaders according to her, since Shaw has been saying that for two weeks and Chandler isn't dead. Shaw reminds Price none of them would "have a seat at the table without her" but Price retorts that she only "set the table" while she and the other regional leaders "paid for the groceries" and "cooked the meal" and leaves Shaw's office. (“Scuttle”)

Price returns home to her ranch in Texarkana where she has a former employee tortured by her personal security forces after he and two of his friends sneak onto her property, kill four of her guards and steal vital information from her with his two companions escaping. The employee is revealed to be Tex Nolan and after he calls Price crazy, she states he is messing with the wrong woman and demands to know where his friends ran off to. When Tex refuses to answer, Price reveals she had had Tex's house to find his daughter Kathleen but instead found an answering machine with a message from Kara Green asking for his help and to meet her at a gas station in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Tex immediately lunges at Price before her men pull him off her and she tells them to get Tex out of there. When one of guards Renfro tells Price Tex escaped, killed a guard and stole everything on him, she tells him to calm down and realizes he is going to save Kara.

Price later attends Oliver's latest press conference to witness Oliver dismantle the government alongside the other regional leaders. But before Oliver can he is interrupted and rescued by Kara Green and her allies as Price flees the gunfight. Price later stands behind Shaw as she makes the announcement instead and frames their enemies for the murders of Michener, Beatty, and Rivera. (“Legacy”)

Price meets with Shaw and the other regional leaders as they discuss what to do with Beatty's territory since his death. When Castillo says he should take control, Price objects stating Castillo will have an advantage over the rest of them and even threatens to have oil shipments to his region ceased, suspecting he has already started mining in Beatty's territory. Shaw interjects she proposes sharing the resources evenly as Castillo and Price provide the resources to do so, which Price agrees to do.

Later she follows Shaw to the war room where Colonel Witt is preparing to sink the Nathan James and kill Chandler once and for all. Price asks if they are ready and even comments the centralized weapons system they are using don't look like much. When Witt tells her looks can be deceiving, Price says she hopes so considering Shaw underestimating Chandler is what got them in trouble in the first place. After the system is armed and targets the "Nathan James", all of them celebrate their demise within a few hours. After the Nathan James is supposedly destroyed, Price meets Shaw in her office and shares a drink with her as she congratulates her on finally "killing" Chandler. When Shaw brings up getting St, Louis now that Oliver is out of the picture, Price responds that St. Louis is Albert Wilson's territory and Shaw should ask him. Shaw states Wilson will only agree if Price backs Shaw up, Price offers to speak to Wilson if Shaw makes sure Castillo delivers her shipment in one piece.

When the train run by Castillo carrying people to Price's territory to work in her power plants doesn't arrive, Price is on video chat with Shaw and Castillo to find out why is hasn't arrived. Price threatens to cut the power to other regions if Castillo doesn't deliver the shipment as promised so Shaw tells Castillo to find that train or he will lose Beatty's territory. (“Resistance”)

On a conference call with Shaw and the other regional leaders, Price says according to her sources the train Castillo sent to their territories was attacked in a highly coordinated strike. Shaw assures them she will handle it but Price questions this based on how she handled Chandler in the past. Shaw has Price taken to the White House and tells her Chandler is alive and the Nathan James was responsible for the attack on the train to Price's shock and disbelief. Shaw goes onto say that he is on the Nathan James with Castillo is custody. Price guesses that the Nathan James are coming after them and Shaw corrects her saying that is why she called her to the White House to activate their centralized weapons control system to sink it.

Price wonders why she didn't call Croft or Wilson and Shaw claims because Price would want to do it herself, but Price realizes Shaw sold them out. After Price helps activate the system with her thumbprint she asks if they are going to nuke it and Shaw states that she isn't that cynical and Price states that due to recent events she doesn't have much faith in her. Shaw reveals that they are going to use a drone to sink the ship and personally watch Chandler die. Agent Powell arrives and tells Shaw they found "them" and Price wonders what they are talking about but Shaw has Agent Costas shoot Price in the head before revealing who "them" is. (“Don't Look Back”)
