Rota Naval Base is a United States Navy base in Rota, Spain.
Events of The Last Ship[]
The USS Nathan James used the Rota base as a home port on their mission find a solution to Red Rust. The base was under the command of Captain Michelle Boylan. The base handed out rations to locals without food. The base eventually ended up running low on supplies and the Navy made plans to abandon the base and relocate the personnel back to Norfolk Naval Base.
In "In Medias Res", the base was bombed and raided by a terrorist faction led by Omar Bin Dalik trying to gain information from the Navy prisoner, Mahmoud Zeddam.
