The Last Ship: Motion Book Series is a five-issue Digital Comic Book Series published by Motion Books. The story takes place between the first and second seasons of The Last Ship.The comic is written by Chuck Dixonwith art by Renato Arlem and Omar Francia.

Episode 1 was released on May 29, 2015. The story starts, as the deadly virus begins to take hold in North America, the United States Government struggles to deal with the impending epidemic. Amid the chaos, Acting Secretary of Defense Amy Granderson retreats to a hidden quarantine zone in Baltimore...where the search for a cure might mean the fate of the entire world.

Episode 2 was released on June 5, 2015. The story continues, as more survivors and infected arrive every day, tensions continue to rise in Baltimore while Detective Thorwald and his men fight to maintain order. Meanwhile, Granderson has her own plans for the facility as support from the United States government dwindles.

Episode 3 was released on June 12, 2015. The story continues, in the early days of the outbreak, Dr. Niels Sørenson ignores protocol to test a new vaccine on himself…with disastrous results, in this untold chapter about one of The Last Ship’s most enigmatic characters.

Episode 4 was released on June 19, 2015. The story continues, while the virus continues to spread around the globe, the Baltimore facility has become a beacon of hope for countless survivors and infected alike. But, as Detective Thorwald is about to realize, even hope has its price at the end of the world.

Episode 5 was released on June 26, 2015. The story continues, with Granderson's plans revealed, Detective Thorwald and his band of loyal officers attempt to take the Baltimore facility by any means necessary.
