The United States Southern Command also known as SOUTHCOM is a regional command station for the United States military located in Cape Canaveral, Florida.
Events of The Last Ship[]
The command center was completely rebuilt on the NASA campus three years after the Red Rust threat. The current commanding officer of the base is Admiral Joseph Meylan. SOUTHCOM became the headquarters for the United States war effort against the Gran Colombian Empire.
