Vasquez is a resistance fighter under Armando Maza's leadership.
Events of The Last Ship[]
Vasquez is first seen accompanying Armando and the US Delta Team to scout a bridge the Gran Colombian Army built so they could reach Northern Panama and later hears Tavo's speech to Mexico and Cuba. Vasquez helps Delta Team and Armando capture the commanding officer in charge of the advance team, Colonel Perez. When they arrive at the checkpoint, Perez warns his soldiers and Vasquez is shot in the arm. Despite being injured he manages to survive and celebrates with the other rebels and Delta Team after they blow the bridge up, delaying Gran Columbia's invasion of Northern Panama. (“El Puente”)
Vasquez helps Delta Team get to an airfield so they can escape Panama and is told by Armando to guide them to the airfield personally. Vasquez leads them through an old road away from the villages to avoid detection as the people in the area take bribes, not sides. They are ambushed by Gran Colombian soldiers and Vasquez tries to lead Delta Team through the path but accidentally triggers a landmine, injuring Wolf Taylor and killing Vasquez. (“Tropic of Cancer”)
